
Bar Academia Branding
Opened in Austin in 2018 by Bar Rescue featured mixologist Russel Davis, Academia is described as “an Ivy League University of drinking” where literary and icons such as Ernest Hemingway and Hunter S. Thompson would pull up a bar stool. The challenge was coming up with a brand identity encompassing four main things people would do in the bar: reading, writing, drinking, and oration.

Bar Interior
In addition to the branding, I also collaborated with the team at Jankedesign to create some placemaking elements for the Bar’s interior. These included Ivy League style rafter banners representing literary icons, as well as a video projector displaying quotes about drinking by famous authors on the wall. *Photo by Academia.
